I’ve seen this map being re-blogged all over tumblr which is SO WEIRD because I have been spending HOURS TODAY WRITING ABOUT THE BLACK DEATH! One thing that hasn’t been pointed out about Poland (see a ton of reblogs at link below) is that Cracow, Poland wasn’t on a main trade route ocean-wise. The other arguments are valid as well. Same for the area by the Pyrenees. And, by the way, they have discovered that the bacterium evolved in China and was carried from there by Zhang He on one of his treasure ships going to Africa. See here. One of the things I did NOT want to know about were carbuncles. Which is why I am a writer and not a nurse or doctor. Can’t. Handle. It.
