Motherland Monument
From The Seven Wonders of Russia:
“The huge memorial statue of the Motherland, known as “The Motherland Calls!” was the largest free-standing sculpture in the world when it was built on top of Mamayev Kurgan, in 1967.”Volgograd, Russia
Personally, I’m more partial to the Ukrainian Motherland Monument in Kiev – less ‘statue nipples’, more shields – but that’s just a matter of taste, I guess.

I have not seen this one but I have been to the one in Kiev, Ukraine. It was interesting that they had to lop off the top of the sword to the one in Ukraine because it was higher than the Orothodox Church there. True. If you look at the link above, you’ll see the tip of the sword is chopped off. Nothing can be higher than the church — or at least that’s the way it was when it was built. I’m not sure about now.
